Topic 2: Marketing in the news-Are you tired of folding your own laundry?

Image
Being a college student can be rough-grocery shopping, cleaning your own place, and even doing your own laundry. When my mom visits me at my apartment, she takes one look in my room and her motherly pet peeve goes off the wall. "Kennedy Jane! Why are all those clothes in a pile? Are they clean? Or dirty? FOLD THEM!" Don't get me wrong, I get where she is coming from. In a perfect world, my clothes would all be perfectly folded in a neat pile. Well, as it turns out, that "perfect world" may be closer than we thought. I recently read an article , which broke down how I may be able to start solving this problem. Two companies which may offer a solution to my laundry crisis are Folimate , and Laundriod , which were recently displayed at the CES tech show in Las Vegas. Folimate, which is geared towards consumers with a price of $980, is set to start delivery to customers at the end of 2019. While that price may not sound like an astonishing good deal, compared to

Topic 1: Social Listening-Thread Wallets

Image
I recently purchased a key lanyard for both my best friend and I from a company called Thread Wallets . I received them in the mail today- and was really impressed by their quality, and with the timing of this assignment I figured it was a perfect opportunity to see what others thought of this brand! What does this company have going for them you might ask? They have truly captured their market- kids and young adults who are so over carrying a bulky and heavy purse or wallet with them. Thread Wallets products are usable and practical for anyone who is waiting to minimize what they carry around with them. The phone cases, have a attached slot for cash or cards, making it perfect for a light load. Their wallets, are small, compact, and slim. Just enough room for the necessary belongings, but without all the bulk. I chose to look at twitter and see what people were saying about this brand and their products-I have attached those tweets below. When scrolling through twitter, I saw not

Lexus: New technology and new ideas. (Topic 2)

Lexus is all about luxury and new ideas. As they were looking at the new year, and how they could get their new car line "in front of the masses," they took a leap into new technology. Lexus teamed up with a company called VNTANA, which makes hologram programs. The next step was to decide how, and where to reach their target audience. The company chose sporting venues, such as Staples Center and Madison Square Garden to launch their new program. Spectators would step into a booth, and were able to customize their vehicle and themselves on the scene in front of them. To add to the experience, Lexus created a holographic basketball game to really tap into the desires of their audience. In the end, Lexus announced that their campaign was successful at increasing "dealership traffic." The key of this article and campaign, was that you have to give people a reason to remember your name. Just sponsoring a game, and getting a really big sign is not enough these days. L

About Me!

To be totally honest, I enrolled in this course for the same reason I enroll in most courses- to fulfill a graduation requirement. However, I know that as an individual in business, I know that this course will be very helpful to my career. While I am not a business marketing major, I am a business management major. I want to start my own property management company, and also expand my family's storage unit business. When it comes to marketing, I am most interesting in learning how to grasp customers attention. What can I do to stand out in this world of so much STUFF? Outside of college, I am very passionate about my friends! I am a people person, and I love to meet new people and grow relationships with my friends.
